The Climb and Slide Castle is a fun learning toy that gives children ample opportunity for adventurous play.
Budding knights and princesses can play the afternoon away and immerse themselves in lots of fun adventures. The Little Tikes Climb and Slide Castle is designed for children ages 1 to 4 years old and gives them lots of cool things to do and discover. There is a cool hideout as well as a crawl tunnel awaiting discovery. At the rear of the castle there are green rocks to climb and once they conquer that they will be standing atop the magical castle where a view of the world around them awaits. Or if you have it in your backyard, a commanding view of the landscape; ok, so it’s something less grand: grass, trees and whatever else you have planted in your yard. But hey, encourage them to imagine — that small shrub on the corner, that’s where the wizard of the West World lives. With this toy, they can have loads of fun under the sun while they play in their magical world.
It’s not all fun and games though; while it will appear to be just that to the kids, that rock face is actually a gentle challenge that helps develop physical skills. When they get to the top there is a working steering wheel designed to help develop a child’s physical dexterity. And when they’re done exploring the world from atop the castle, they can gently slide back down to earth using the small slide in front of the castle which is designed explicitly for the young ones. It’s no Six Flags folks, no E-ticket ride for those of you mature enough to know what that is, it’s simply a child’s first slide, a safe platform for a very young child to experience their first gravity ride that promises soft landings.
The Climb and Slide Castle requires a ten-minute assembly and measures approximately 50 by 21.5 by 43 inches.
Many parents have reported that this particular toy engages their little munchkins so much that they are actually able to accomplish many tasks without having the kids incessantly screaming for attention. They particularly appreciated its size which makes it a perfect toy for use both indoors and outdoors. Perhaps the greatest thing about this toy is that the kids exhibit such a cute look of accomplishment when they are able to conquer the rock face to get to the top of the castle and then slide down the other side all on their own.
Many parents especially appreciated the ease with which they were able to put together the toy. When you bring home something like this, your kids will be watching, holding their breath, wanting to help, eager to dive right into that new toy and who could resist those wonderful colors, fantastic shapes and fun things to do? The toy itself is very light given its plastic construction, but reportedly is very durable and can last for many years.
Some owners are a bit concerned about the toy’s ability to remain vertical when the kids get a little bit aggressive with it. Some parents are not very comfortable with kids crawling in and around the toy when another kid is climbing the rocks or is standing on top of the castle.
Others expressed concern that the slide is a bit too vertical and doesn’t allow for a smooth landing. Still others worry about the fact that the slide gives them such a short ride but they’re missing the point here given that this was designed as an absolute first slide, from which a child can experience his or her first gravity ride. A final complaint involve the rock face, with some indicating that the rocks were difficult for the children to climb. In the end, most admit that their kids quickly learned how to climb those rocks even if they couldn’t make heads or tails of it when they first encountered the rock face.
All in all, a great toy that introduces children to so many new challenges that it’s sure to keep them engaged for quite some time.
